Ok, another question. My supervisor is concerned that I have used some non-academic references as 'evidence' - novels, tv shows etc. My feeling is that this is a generational thing: boomers find this toe-curlingly awful, Millenials think it's normal, Gen-X tolerate it to some extent. Is that right?

Is anyone aware of a thesis or book which uses a library as a window into an historic institution or organisation? Any clues gratefully accepted!

Made the annoying decision to pull out of a job interview next week. I was already suspicious that they had called me for interview in the first place given that I am not well qualified for the job and put no effort into my application. Why were there not better applicants? What did they know?

So three of us have now heard a cat meowing inside the walls at first floor level of the cathedral, and none of us understand how. Those who haven't heard it think it is a collective hallucination, or a pigeon. It's definitely a cat. More news as/if I get it.
