Kit feels very strongly that the answer to these and all life's questions is to stop tapping on my laptop and pay attention to him. (He was sniffing my eyeballs a moment ago)

Ok, another question. My supervisor is concerned that I have used some non-academic references as 'evidence' - novels, tv shows etc. My feeling is that this is a generational thing: boomers find this toe-curlingly awful, Millenials think it's normal, Gen-X tolerate it to some extent. Is that right?

Is anyone aware of a thesis or book which uses a library as a window into an historic institution or organisation? Any clues gratefully accepted!

Who could have guessed sleeping for 12 hours a night three days in a row would lead to not being very sleepy the night before going back to work?

A most respectable lady keeps knocking on my door to ask if I'm *sure* Christine doesn't live here, and although I'm not the world's most observant person I just feel like it's something I'd notice if she did.

Well that's weird. I've just realised that as a toddler I was in correspondence with the author of a 1968 report into ordinand training.

Yet again, as I write about fear of disestablishment of the CofE I ponder that time in Year 3 when my most type-A classmate was showing off that she could spell antidisestablishmentarianism and I responded that it was pointless as we would never need to use the word, and she said we would.

Made the annoying decision to pull out of a job interview next week. I was already suspicious that they had called me for interview in the first place given that I am not well qualified for the job and put no effort into my application. Why were there not better applicants? What did they know?

So three of us have now heard a cat meowing inside the walls at first floor level of the cathedral, and none of us understand how. Those who haven't heard it think it is a collective hallucination, or a pigeon. It's definitely a cat. More news as/if I get it.

Fun fact: I have double jointed shoulders and can dislocate and reset my shoulders at will and without pain. Less fun fact: Without pain - unless I dislocate my shoulder in my sleep and don't instinctively reset it, and sleep for several hours with my arm out of socket.

I’ve met the Pope (Francis), he has a priest trailing behind him handing out medals in a little cream coloured box.

I, too, once received a jar of this honey as a gift. I guess what's good enough to bid farewell to a rare book cataloguer is good enough for a pope.
