More sad news in a year that seems determined to shatter my world...Yesterday, we had to say, "Goodbye." to the cat that we rescued in late April. Although Salem was only with us for 6 months, he had quickly become my buddy, as he reminded me of my beloved Pumpkin (2001-2018).

Sad news from our household today, as we took our cat Des (aka Desiree, Desi, Deseret, Desi Arnaz jr., Desi-doodle, Doodle girl). She fought a valiant battle against cancer over the past several months, but it was time for her to cross the rainbow bridge. 😿🌈

My husband and I have had marital problems for the last 2 years. We went to counseling...it didn't help because he only paid lip service to the recommendations.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I do not feel like "celebrating" the 4th of July this year. The current MAGA/Nazi administration is building concentration camps & kidnapping people off the streets, while eliminating health care, SNAP benefits, & other parts of the social safety net to pay for tax cuts for the richest among us.

Last July, I stopped speaking to my MAGA SIL after she refused to have a fact-based political discussion. She said, "I can't pay $8 for gas." I noted that gas was $3.50/gal. The war with Iran will most likely cause the price of oil to skyrocket. I'm looking forward to her paying $8/gal. soon. FAFO.
