International Women's Day is a time to celebrate women and their contributions, but also to reflect on the reality of women's rights today. 1 in 4 countries reported a backlash on women's rights in 2024. Globally, women have just 64% of the legal rights of men.

Secretly filming women for profit is a sickening, cowardly act. We have to close the loopholes that let perpetrators get off scot-free. The government must urgently tighten voyeurism laws to make it clear sexualised, covert filming & posting this footage online is a criminal offence.

I was beyond proud to graduate with an MSc in International Public Policy from Queen's University Belfast in December. Living in Belfast was wonderful and I took a wide range of modules, from public policy analysis to global political economy to energy and low-carbon energy transitions
