Taking a break from the campaign trail to head to London, where I’ll be speaking to the Lib Dem parliamentary party. So many of them are passionate advocates for councils, with firsthand experience as councillors. They understand the challenges we face on the ground.

It’s official! The nomination forms are in and I’m thrilled to say I’m now officially a candidate standing for re-election to the County Council! My first political love has always been representing Cirencester, the place I live and where I was raised and that has shaped me as a person.

When you start hitting older milestones and realise that teachers and health professionals still can’t afford to buy at 50, you realise the scale of the problem. Rural exception sites are the only delivery tool that has ever worked, and we miss binding affordable targets with teeth.

There’s a serious housing crisis in the Cotswolds. Many people who’ve grown up here simply can’t afford to stay. We urgently need more genuinely affordable homes for local families, along with essential upgrades to infrastructure like roads and sewage systems to support them. 🏡

Spent a fantastic few days at Milton Keynes City Council as part of their Local Government Association Peer Challenge. We’ve seen first-hand a well-run council with a team of dedicated, motivated, and passionate staff—all committed to delivering the best for their city.

Labour could help take thousands of children out of poverty by scrapping the Conservatives’ cruel two child limit on benefits. It assumes the majority of women have children just to get benefits which is total bollocks.

Huge congratulations to our team in Pendle and our newest councillor, Andy Bell, for this big gain from the Conservatives. Many areas of England are becoming a fight between the Lib Dems and Reform - the Conservatives can’t win!
