Everyday Americans get nickel and dimed while the rich dodge taxes. They struggle to get by while the wealth of the 1% skyrockets. They see their voices drowned out while the well-connected avoid accountability. There are two sets of rules in America: One for the rich. Another for everyone else.

This, more than anything, is what the right realized in the wake of the 2000 election: in a moment of chaos or crisis, they can do anything -- *anything*, no matter how overtly criminal or gross -- & just smooth it over later with "both sides" pablum. "Let's not fight, let's look forward," etc.

We just cancelled <all> federal area studies/foreign language funding at universities nationwide to ostensibly “save” $86M. How much of that did we waste on this one authoritarian farce alone?

When the issue was forgiving student loans, there was a lot of grumbling from the older generations about it, about how they had done it the hard way (even though costs were much lower then) and the Kids Today should too. But when it comes to Kids Today doing the actual work? Meh, they don't care.

The current Supreme Court has forfeited all legitimacy. Democrats (and everyone) need to address that reality. John Roberts > Roger Taney. Court needs to expand. And have fixed terms—like *every* other supreme court in developed world. And have ethics rules, like all normal organizations.
