Holy carp! I found a galvanometer with a potentiometer on it for verifying the needle's deflection! Never seen anything like this before. Confirmed the feedback part. Trying to figure out a way to confirm the galvanometer part without causing any permanent damage if I'm wrong.

Refined the design a bit more and printed the lid out of matte gray PLA. There's three LEDs across the top. This is the middle one. I think I like where this is going. Big inspiration from the RPi SCSI case's designer.
