Black trans people exist y’know I’m struggling to see the humor in posting a trans version of the confederate flag

The trans flag is meant to represent freedom and hope for all trans people. When racist imagery is allowed to coexist with it, it sends a clear message about who is prioritized and who is not. Black trans voices deserve respect, safety, and space—without compromise. ✊🏿

This isn’t just offensive—it’s harmful. You cannot separate the trans identity from accountability. There is a difference between simply being a trans person and actively being part of the trans community.

There’s an image going viral that combines the trans flag with the Confederate flag, and as a Black trans woman, this is deeply painful to see. The Confederate flag represents a history of racism, violence, and the oppression of Black people.

the only way to "reclaim" the confederate flag is to tear it down and burn it after issuing its adherents their proper confederate honors (bleeding out in a muddy field)
