I'm still processing the Worldcon experience. I only went for the day and actually didn't understand what the big deal was. I just heard "Scifi Convention!" And went "Let's go!" Now I get this is *the* place for SFF writers, including the big ones. Feel pretty lucky I could drop in on that.

Alien Clay may be the best novel from Adrian Tchaikovsky that I've read so far. Children of Time is my *favorite*—perhaps because it was the first of his I read, but from a critical standpoint, I feel Alien Clay carries all the same notes but with greater intensity.

I've been writing lately when I'm most exhausted, and the moment least opportune. Because that's when the pretense is thinnest, and the words usually more honest.
