Here are my personal reactions to the XR experiences & stories at #SXSW w length & capacity estimations for how difficult it may be to get in to different experiences. I don’t always agree with ranking art, because every story has meaning & value independent of what I think. These are my opinions.

UploadVR's @heaney555.bsky.social has tested and confirmed that Meta's OpenXR middleware is indeed blocking non-Quest HMDs on PC and "currently only work for Quest Link and Rift headsets, not any other PC VR headset."

Great recap of what’s happening with Meta & OpenXR from a VR dev POV. There is certainly some convenience going on Meta, but they are also going out of their way to block non-Meta hardware & software, which is more of a business-driven decision on the malicious side that ultimately undermines OpenXR

I dig into the allegation Meta has been deliberately undermining the @openxr.org standard by blocking apps on PCVR that are non-Meta HMDS or if they're not using Oculus Link.
