This is definitely how I got into Asimov: a "Best of" collection with bangers like Nightfall and The Last Question. Bradbury collections were the original gateway to SF for me, and then I found Silverberg's MUTANTS collection in my school library and read Bixby and Aldiss and Poul Anderson...

I had somehow missed the entire EXISTENCE of this monologue, which Will S apparently wrote for a play composed by others. ("Sir Thomas More" is not in the First Folio.) It sure sounds like him, though Sir Ian could probably make the script of WEDDING CRASHERS sound like the work of the Bard.

In less than a week the Kennedy Center has effectively closed and our local DC paper has been gutted, both by billionaires. I don’t think immigrants are our problem in this country.

When we moved to VA in 1995, we were excited to subscribe to the Washington Post. We eventually moved to a digital sub, but when Bezos shut down the paper's endorsement of Kamala, we saw the writing on the wall. We cancelled in the fall of '24, and now Bezos is cancelling the Post. You suck, Jeff.

I just learned that Sal Buscema died on Friday. He was never my favorite artist, but he was the artist who made many of my favorite comics come to life, especially during his run on DEFENDERS, and I've never heard a comics pro say a bad word about him. RIP, sir.
