I've taught on and off at BU for 10 years. I'm a BUSPH alum. As the first out trans woman faculty member at SSW, this is a punch in the face. Taking this down says my life and that of my students matters less to you than appeasing those who would shutter BU forever in an instant if they could.

Meanwhile, Google just laps up all the info from all these sites, summarizes it, and reproduces it at the top of the search results so that people don't have to click the links anymore. Eventually, this is going to probably drive a lot of the news sites out of business (or to scale way back).

And eventually, we'll lose all these great sources of information entirely. Google's AI overviews are going to cannibalize the media industry. Right now, I think a lot of people who don't work in media see these really convenient overviews and think "oh, this is awesome."
