I want to do one of the drawing challenges this October. But which one? Inktober's promots feel a tad stale, but I do think the restrictions are helpful.

A designer claimed the white text on dark on my slides is harder to read and tires the eyes. I didn't have time to explain. My colors pass WCAG AA. But our eyes and devices can differ. Accessibility is not one size fits all. Nothing designed for humans should be. Human centered means everybody.

"They already have all your data anyway" is never a useful reason to not try to reduce data exposure, nor is "other platforms do worse". It also matters if data are being gathered for, say, participating in a neutral/generic platform vs. for a specific event or purpose targeted by authorities.

Generally we think of alt-text as the domain of those with accessibility needs. However alt-text is useful for many reasons, which benefit your viewers, as well as you, the creator!

Design criticism remains stuck in nostalgia for the glory days of graphic design, so it never made the leap to coherent criticism of interactive digital products and services where the thing you need to critique is the underlying business model because everything follows from that.
