Our final #BlackHistoryMonth assembly, led by @azizatvi.bsky.social Today was about Mae C Jemison, the first African- American women to go to space! The shuttle orbited earth for 8 days! The children have learnt lots about so many incredible black people this month. We have a wonderful community ☺️

What an exciting week! Tomorrow is our last special “superhero” assembly for #BHM. @fizatvi.bsky.social led our #BlackHistoryMonth assembly. I wonder if you can guess who she spoke about? Here is a photo of him when he was younger. He was knighted in 2021 for services to motor sport and is now one of the most famous F1 racing drivers in the world. Of course it’s Lewis Hamilton!

@sheilatvi.bsky.social spoke about Muhammad Ali today for #BlackHistoryMonth The most famous boxer in the world, nicknamed ‘The Greatest’ for this reason. His birth name was Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr & at just 18, he won a gold medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics! @tvinfants.bsky.social

Our #BlackHistoryMonth assembly today was led by @titi-tvi.bsky.social She spoke about Fela Kuti, a Nigerian musician. He’s described as the ‘Father of Afrobeat’ as he is credited as creating this genre of music. The children will tell you that dance & music is a huge part of @tvinfants.bsky.social

For Black History month we were inspired by famous heroes such as Mary Seacole, Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks. We decorated our own ‘celebration’ hand to show what makes us all special and a hero to others @tvinfants.bsky.social @tvi-families.bsky.social

It was such a busy day in School today that I only managed two photos- one of an incredible trifle a parent made for our shared lunch, and a photo of one of our children dressed in yellow for Young Minds to mark #WorldMentalHeathDay 💛 @tvinfants.bsky.social @laurenskeelstvi.bsky.social

Tomorrow is #WorldMentalHealthDay & we will support Young Minds and their #HelloYellow campaign 💛 All children and staff are invited to wear something yellow and donate £1 to Young Minds, a charity dedicated to supporting the mental health of children and their families ☺️ @tvinfants.bsky.social

On Friday we had some of our full time Nursery parents come into School and try some of our tasty School Dinners. The children then came over to the main hall and had a second portion of lunch with @tvinfants.bsky.social They sat so nicely and had beautiful manners ☺️ @adamdobsontvi.bsky.social

I think @chloetvi.bsky.social #BlackHistoryMonth assembly might be my favourite so far! Stevie Wonder is one of the world’s most famous singers, songwriters and pianists, despite the struggles of going blind shortly after birth. A real role model for children ☺️

Look how confident Dolly is now, jumping onto my son’s hand for some food! At one point we weren’t sure if she was going to survive as she was stuck in her egg for a while, and now she’s the boss of them all! 🐥 @tvinfants.bsky.social

Fresh bedding, food and water for our girls 🐥 I hide some of their food amongst their bedding as they like to scratch and peck for it. It won’t be long and we can start giving them treats like lettuce and spinach 🥰
