follow-up discussion today went much better and there's definitely a potential thesis there, thankfully, but i'm still a little uneasy about this supervisor/environment... hopefully the third option works out, administratively more complicated but i think i'd feel safer? we'll see 🥲

also, a really random thought that came to me the other day, i kind of love that lucy is named lucy bc it's very plausible as an anglicisation of a chinese name, a naming strategy i know gets used by chinese parents in natively english speaking societies (including some i know personally)

rewatched the season 8 trailer comfortably now that we know for a fact chenford is back together & i think the other storyline i'm most excited for is whatever lucy/nyla have going on together... a badass duo we've been lacking in recent seasons & an opportunity for lucy to be mentored?

don't you just love waking up in the middle of the night bc your tension headache from the night before has become a splitting headache you literally cannot ignore

some days i'm struck by the reminder that something could happen to me & literally no one would know like don't get me wrong, i appreciate every opportunity i've gotten and everything that living alone/abroad has brought me, but it's also a wild thing to wrap my mind around sometimes 🥲

besties, an update: instead of getting ghosted this time i got a preliminary discussion (yay!) BUT the meeting has left me very confused & very stressed HELP 😩 wondering if i made a mistake doing a master's when i've never done a thesis & don't have anyone in my life who has to ask for help from rip

so, we've had a few days in the past months where i've woken up to a dusting of snow, and i've seen beds of snow a few times on vacation, but today i actually watched the snow as it fell for the first time, and there's SO much piled up

didn't really do much reflecting yesterday since i was focused on homework but now that i'm taking stock of my 2025, it was truly a crazy year lived in four different apartments/four different cities over the year, spent time in 19 cities/10 countries (13 new cities/four new countries)

i know advent calendars are traditionally for the lead up to christmas, but this feels like a fun way to start the new year, so here we go 🙈

been stuck on the same non-fiction book for a while now (it's good but the chapters are dense so progress is slow 😅) so i doubt i'll make it any further than this before the year ends! ending with ✨ 13 ✨ more than my initial goal, including a good mix of fiction and non-fiction (my secondary goal!)
