I'm definitely a science & coding guy, so wizard or artificer would make sense, plus I have a music background for bard... but I'mma be honest, I'm probably an NPC... 😅

Bard (college of Lore) and Druid (circle of stars) multi-class for sure!

Beastmaster Ranger (Cat Dad and animal lover) and College of Valor Bard (Fantasy and TTRPG writer who's written a lot of self-published D&D stuff).

Order of Scribes Wizard main (PhD, Lit), with a level of Monk (17 years martial arts) and maybe a level of Rogue.

Scribes Wizard (PhD candidate in Creative Writing) with a secret desire for Eloquence Bard levels, but is too stage-frightened (read: lack of CHA) to actually pursue it.

Real world, in my former career, was a Valor Bard with a Soldier Background, now with a few levels in Knowledge Cleric that does clerical office work rather than clerical religious work. Photo is of yours truly from 2007 at Fort Monroe, Virginia.

I have TWO. Hahaha. Ungovernable. 1. Never admit to a mistake. The only thing keeping your players in line is their fear of your inerrancy and godlike power. 2. Always brutally punish PCs for failure. The only thing keeping your players in line is their fear of cruel diegetic consequences.

A year or so into the campaign, drop a reveal that the PCs were actually being manipulated by the big bad all along and everything they did so far was in service to their plan. if it works for playstation 1/2 era JRPGs it'll work for your D&D campaign

However long you’re spending preparing for sessions, double it. Then double it again.

Don't bother checking what your players enjoy, as long as you enjoyed yourself the session was a success Also the same for players, your fun is "all" that matters

Players love record keeping. So enforce a strict 'track every bullet/arrow" rule. For added realism, assign usage limits and wear thresholds to mundane items like forks and writing gear. "You have 2 inches of chalk left? Are you sure you want to spend half of it on that message?". Untold joy.

For all my jokes about Spartan, rules lawyer, or railroad-y DMs, there are probably DMs out there who hate my cavalier/hippy style, but only thing that matters is my players have fun. You can judge my style and the results yourself by giving my DND adventure podcast @dndversus.bsky.social a listen.
