Depending how invested my character is, he might get involved but as a sorcerer, he’s very squishy (& he knows it!) so.. is likely to cast invisibility on self, and attempt a Peter Maximoff/quicksilver attempt at causing chaos.. but in real time. Open the trapdoor, tie opposing shoelaces etc

Pause the fight and tell everyone in the room "If you see the guards, we can all hide in here" Then continue the fight.

Open the trap door and jump down through it just as I finish casting fireball.
