Working on the @avcx.bsky.social variety puzzle in between pies & my 5yo keeps asking “can I help? Can I help?” Finally had to explain to her that knowing how to read and spell are prerequisites. Love that energy, though!

I signed up for AVCX Crosswords a few weeks back, and it’s swiftly become a top favorite of mine. The puzzles are very fun, beautifully constructed and clever, and they’re doing great things. Supporting quality work, getting a quality product, good stuff all around.

I love being a member! So many great puzzles with cluing that’s way more fun than the old institutions’. I’m not smart enough to wade into the cryptics yet, but maybe one day!

If you love cryptics, you’ve probably asked “why aren’t there more, and more fans of them?” The tl;dr is that people can only fall for them if they encounter them, and so first love scales with the publishers. There are precious few; AVCX is a good one. Consider adding their puzzles to your week.
