Walking down 55th St. in Brooklyn, I passed a playground and 2 homes playing loud danceable music from 3 different cultures. If I lived next door to any of them, I probably would have been annoyed, but walking down the street, it was a cool experience.

The hundredth birthday of a book that I've never been that fond of, but which well illustrates some of the human awfulness we're experiencing today. I think it's time for a reread, to see if I've changed my view on it.
