I keep hearing people say in response to all the horrors of this world that “this too shall pass,” but I keep seeing studies revealing how Covid has changed our brains and bodies and I am worried oh, I am very worried, that it shall not actually pass.

Should they respond (and they likely will) to your comments on this ongoing pandemic by suggesting that you and people like you “are insufferable,” politely but firmly reply that what you and people like you are trying to prevent is suffering.

It's wild that so many of these people who Support ICE have been the sorts to tout things like Stoicism online, but they forgot perhaps the most important line in all of Stoicism. "All cruelty stems from weakness"- Seneca. These are the men we were warned of. Weak men make for bad times.
