I don't think folks younger than 30 know what the internet once legitimately promised to be (and I would argue briefly was): a boundary-less space of pretty much uncommodified information and communication. A mix between community bulletin boards and university library stacks.

SELF-PORTRAIT 05/16/2026 80-year-old leaning on my granddad's dresser from West VA after 20 minute exercise bike workout. Got hot halfway through, shed shirt. Yesterday's Corvette sunburn visible on arm. 80°F outside with 7% humidity. Hell, I thought I was smiling. Shot with phone into the mirror.
