First, my favorite Pokémon is Totodile, they're just a chompy little guy! Second, if I were a Pokémon I would be Eevee: I want to do everything, but if I want to be any good at any of it I have to choose 😫

This week's

Between Destiny and Destiny 2 it's been an incredible run, and one that has had a massive hand in the trajectory of my life. Thank you to everyone who worked on both of them 💚

Although I haven't played in over a year, I'm sad to hear about this. There are very few games that have changed my life, and Destiny 2 is certainly one of them. Thank you for all the memories 🫡

I'm about halfway through Mixtape (looking to finish up this weekend) and I'm really enjoying it! It takes some really intentional artistic swings and knows what it wants to be, and I love it for that.

Easy answer is Destiny because of the amount of time it's been in my life (and that it was
@gregwrogers.bsky.social
's and my main place to hang out in the period leading up to Causeway), with ~4,600 hours Second-most: EverQuest Online Adventures (PS2). I loved that game (but I never got into EQ PC)

Can you really know someone if you don't know what game has stolen more of their life than any other? In this week's
#QuestionsWithCauseway
, we're asking our team (and YOU) what game you've spent the most time with in your entire life. We're all ears!

I would be SO INTO a Ninefox Gambit/Machineries of Empire adaptation into a Mass Effect-style grand space opera. Let me play with the dual-nature main character, everyone's suspicions, and also the weird formation-based space magic!

A special Saturday edition of
#QuestionsWithCauseway
(because we forgot to do it yesterday)! We've all imagined video games based on our favorite movies, books, and TV shows. So... which IP do you want to see turned into a game... and what genre should it be?

They just don't make them like they used to... or make them at all anymore, in some cases! For this week's
#QuestionsWithCauseway
, we want you to practice necromancy... let us know which genre needs to have a renaissance. Who knows, maybe someone is listening!

When I was younger I always thought I wanted my gameboy games (original Pokemon, Zelda, Golden Sun, etc.) as grand, open-world adventures... but now? Give me back those 2D directed RPGs!

The show I've gone back to the most for comfort has long been White Collar. The show has its issues, but Peter and Neal's father-son relationship always brings me some sense of stability. Also: Mozzie. Mozzie is just the best little guy.

When I was young, my dad had me playing old Flight Simulator games, so I got very used to the classic 90s joystick! Haven't used one since, so all the newfangled fancy stuff is way too complicated for me.

As anyone who knows me can attest: my memory, especially long term, is a sieve. That said, I'm fairly certain my earliest gaming memory is either Microsoft Pinball: Space Cadet or Mickey's Dangerous Chase, which is almost exactly as old as I am. I remember raging at Mickey's Dangerous Chase...

Holy moly! The Haunting of Joni Evers has been nominated for an Indie Game Award for Kelly Pekar’s phenomenal performance as Joni Evers. Thanks folks who nominate stuff for stuff! I really appreciate this. I’m super proud of the game our team crafted. Yay! Go listen to Joni wrestle with trauma!

Super excited that Kelly Pekar’s performance as Joni Evers made the short list. This is so cool and well deserved for Kelly! If you haven’t had a chance to play The Haunting of Joni Evers, now’s a great time. If you’re press or a creator, hit me up for a code!

My therapist once told me "if you work with your mind, you should try resting with your hands." When I'm not making or playing games, you can find me attempting to renovate my house, building furniture, or running. I'm also considering getting back into knitting.

There is no amount of failure or success that will warrant reasonable job security in this industry. The human cost of making games or frankly being a creative of any industry in this hellscape is obscene. More blood on the altar for shareholders. Love it.

Another week in the books, and another
#QuestionsWithCauseway
. This week, we want you to get to know our team through how they play with others. So we're asking... What role do you usually play when you're on a team? Tank, DPS, Support, Lone Wolf, or something else?
3

My specific role depends on the type of game (EQOA I was a tank, Halo I played objective and support) but it really comes back to whichever role lets my teammates shine brightest. I'll take the hits so you can do damage, or I'll handle the flag while you clear the way.

This is Dreamfall: Chapters from

for me, so much that it was once an answer to last week's question too. I backed it on Kickstarter and wanted so much to love it, but I think it released at a time when I wasn't in the right place for it. A couple years later though... 💚

I get it. You want to crack the “next big thing” in gaming technology, because that will make you money. Pro tip: Just find talented people and let them make games. Big games, little games, weird games, safe games. Let people cook.
