I’m sure someone else has put this better but: producer is a very…female-coded profession. They do the work that needs to happen but rarely attracts any glory. They have “soft skills” that auteurs and geniuses don’t. They’re often paid less. Just something to consider about why they’re devalued.

My pronouns are she/her but I'm also a little guy, boy (as in yea boyyyy) and sometimes, pal (threatening). Hope this makes sense

the one piece of advice you need for being a game developer is "never make a post demeaning the work of a particular dev specialisation, even if it is a joke"

Fun fact if there's no project managers on your project that work is just being done by someone else with a different title. Even solo projects need planning.

Unfortunate circumstance of gen AI: I love to make designs with really clean lines, but when I look at things I’ve made in this style I always feel like it looks too close to being AI-generated. I think that’s why I’ve been gravitating towards more grungy/handmade/graffiti styles recently.

It always feels like all the wrong people die, but I think it’s because there are far more beloved people than there are bastards.
