It’s strange because if I see England fans dressed as Crusaders or singing about 10 German bombers I’m like “hmmm no that’s a bit much, come on now” 😒😒😬😬 But if Norwegians dress like Vikings and start pretending to row a longboat I’m like WOOOO LETS PILLAGE THESE ISLES 📯🤪🤪🤪🤪🤘

The rules from this tournament are very different from the Premier League but I’m all for it. You can’t foul the keeper on a set piece. 🤩 But also the ball moves around after shots like a floater so we get loads of long range screamers 🤩

‘An Exercise in Perspective’ asks the question: what does the world look like when you lose your sight? Infused with vivid colour of memory, raw energy of punk rock, and the sense of release Harrison found in running, the film offers an immersive portrait of his irrepressible spirit and perception

You can’t help but think this sudden signing is an act of revenge by Hughes & Edwards, after Newcastle dragged out the Isak saga last summer. Seems opportunistic. ~€40m is their go-to number… Firmino, Mane, Salah, Jota, Gakpo, Konate, Diaz, Gravenberch, Kerkez, Frimpong all cost about that price.

Despite Spain having more than 74% possession, Cape Verde committed only one foul all game. It's the fewest by any team in a World Cup match in Opta's record books (since 1966).

I just realised it’s a huge advantage for teams being in groups that play later. They will know what they need to finish 3rd and qualify for the next round 🤓

Ryan Gravenberch assisting Virgil van Dijk is only the second ever World Cup goal scored and assisted by a Liverpool player, after Ian Callaghan assisted Roger Hunt for England against France in 1966.

I’m struck by how likeable Iraola seems as a person. In his interview he was excitable, passionate and humble. Compared to Slot, who you could describe as calm, stern and assured (to put it kindly), it feels almost the opposite characteristics.

I didn’t want Slot sacked personally, but my feeling for next season has immediately changed from a sense of dread to a nervous excitement. 😅 So I understand why they did it. No evidence that Iraola is capable of trophies, but his style is undoubtedly much more thrilling to watch.

Do we think Slot had been told before the final match? 🤔 He did seem remarkably uninvolved in the post-game on pitch presentations. Nothing in his post-match press conference about next season either.
