Local elections are the only elections of actual preference! It's literally the place to get people hyped up for a better world. That's where you get people to think "Huh? Why can't we have that HERE?" National elections are a complete waste of time, from a liberatory strategy perspective.

I don't think it *only* gets us evil, but evil is definitely part of the package. I think the larger the election, the less it is about personal preference. A national election dilutes one's vote so much that it's incredibly trite to say "that's your power".
