I wish Facebook would learn that I literally never want to click on and expand someone’s avatar. I *do* want to expand their profile picture to see if I know them though.

Oh what’s that? A housing crisis? Wouldn’t know it in Miramichi where we turned down 3.2million from the federal government so that we don’t have to increase our pop density (2021= 3.6per sq km). But also let’s complain about the housing insecure population. And property taxes. And service gaps.🙃

I’m (once again) just a girl, sitting on a (very busy) train (on a Wednesday in November) begging Via to return the Ocean line to daily service.

My favourite parts of this trip to Montreal: 🚲 Bikes 🛷 Sled giggles 🏊 ❄️ Swimming under the snow 🏫 School bike racks filled with kids bikes 🛑 Girls walking home from school conversing with the crossing guard 🛍️ Simons 🍑 My husband thinking the correct response to “merci” is “derrière”

Build walkable, liveable cities and as a bonus you’ll get children giggling as they commute to school/daycare by sled.

The amount of “I trick or treated in snowstorms” posts on Facebook right now is driving me. I remember trick or treating in a full snowsuit too. That doesn’t mean I wish that experience on my kids. I hate our society’s penchant to declare that since we suffered, others should suffer too.

I wish there were more opportunities for me to share with people my favourite fact about myself: My 8th great grandfather was the King of England. (My 7th great grandfather was his illegitimate son).

You might think that the mayor of Yellowknife, the capital of Canada's vast Northwest Territories, would be a fan of giant pickups. Nope. He's disgusted by car bloat.

Had an awesome time at the Anglophone North School district mountain bike races today! Kids came home with 1st place, 3rd place, and 2nd place for their respective groups/grades! Very glad to be a bike-loving family.

I feel like this is a good time to remind everyone that the federal government subsidizes the oil sector (mostly for profit companies) at a rate of somewhere between 2 Billion-30+ Billion/year… or 5.5-82 million dollars per day.

Can someone explain to me how the Horizon Health mask mandate works? There’s signs at the front of the hospital saying masks are mandatory in patient areas, but then when we have appts there, we end up being the only people wearing masks - staff aren’t even wearing them. Is there a mandate or no?

Yesterday’s bike commute was brought to me by: ⭐️ the stars 🥶 the cold noticeably impacting my battery life 🤢 Chatham’s current bad smell 😳 this long piece of metal getting wound around my cassette and forcing me to do emergency maintenance on the narrow sidewalk of the Centennial Bridge.

Canada Post is either… a) a public service - in which case the necessity of government investment should be understood and not stigmatized: or b) a private entity in a free market - in which case the government should divest from ownership.

I hated middle school when I went through it. I hate middle school now that my kids are all in it. Potentially the worst phase in life, truly.

I’m very supportive of labour movements, but I have a very important question… will the flyer ban mean I don’t get my Christmas LEGO catalogue*?!? *it has replaced the Sears catalogue in my holiday season

Evan Dunfee is my favourite 🇨🇦 athlete - down to earth, an advocate for liveable cities, relatable while being extraordinary- he was one of my favourite twitter (🪦) follows. So happy for him; so proud that he’s Canadian!

This screenshot makes it look like this high-speed train is somehow also running through Fredericton and I can only dream. Also, I wonder who’s managing this project and whether they’re looking for employees. 😂

I dunno man, September 10th seems a little early for Pogies but that 7° felt very cold this morning. 🥶 (Excuse my off-centre light - we finally got our basket yesterday and the light only fits sideways right now. 🫠)

Can this guy come speak at my city council too? I think a developer has a much higher chance of changing the minds of my city leadership.

As somewhat of a pacifist, additional violence - of any kind - is disheartening. But the amount of posts I’ve seen from Facebook friends about how this is religious persecution is 😬.

I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe I’m unlucky! In the last 6 weeks, these are the things that have broken on me: -car transmission 💸 💸 💸 -car muffler 💸 -washing machine 💸 💸 -car air conditioning 💸 💸 I’m good for lots of things but not lotto numbers! P.s. - 🦆 car dependency

I’m convinced that one of the reasons I hate driving is because it takes a lot of brain power. You have to be constantly paying attention, assessing threats, and making contingency plans. Because I live in a car centric area, I have to somewhat do the same on my bike too, but at least that’s fun.

I forgot that our car was in the shop today. My 11yo had soccer right after school and my 13yo had practice after that. Good thing I had planned for us to bike these drop-off/pickups anyway! It allowed my 13yo to manage her own schedule, and gave me a chance to hear all about my son’s day - a gift!

Ordered two pairs of jeans from the same retailer recently. Same model, same size, just a different wash. They came in the mail and I tried them on… one fits great, the other wasn’t close to fitting. 🙃

Decided earlier this week that LEGO stocking stuffers this year were going to be custom holiday village MOCs from Rebrickable (including these cargo bikes). And - of course - LEGO announced today they’re temporarily limiting pick a brick service in US and Canada because of US tariffs. 😭

Since the closure of the Centennial Bridge in Miramichi will essentially make us house-bound next yr; I’m now trying to convince my family we should do a 1-year adventure in Montreal… Rent our house out in Miramichi, rent an apt in Montreal, improve our French, take wkd trips to Ott and Tor, etc.⚜️

The one time my husband met a sitting PM, he asked to get a picture between “the countries’ 2 most attractive Justin’s”, & proceed to get a pic with the PM on one side & a pic of a shirtless Justin Bieber on the other. This was not planned - the JB pic had been hanging in his cubicle for some time.

Uh-huh. And you don't even wanna know how much money the health care system lost this quarter. Or the RCMP. Or public libraries. Or every road and highway department. Public services shouldn't have to make money, because this isn't fucking Monopoly.

Someone needs to explain to me why the day after I get no sleep I seem to have extra energy, but two days later I totally crash. Feeling extra hyper and wired today after working until 2am last night and then waking up at 6:40. But I just know I’ll be wanting to nap all day tomorrow…

I know people hate their front load washing machines but I will never buy a top load machine without an agitator again. This error code has single handedly stolen innumerable hours from my life over the last 10 years, and has also removed any energy efficiency this machine was supposed to have.
