I have the voice & efficiency of a professional. But I don’t have the “face of a celebrity”. That doesn’t mean I look bad. But it does mean I don’t look GREAT, in the opinion of people who have power over my marketability. And I hate that it has any influence at all on my livelihood and success.

Authentic Casting in voice acting based on race, gender identity & sexuality is a good thing. But as most animated characters are attractive & idealized, directors avalanche into “No uggos. No fatties. No oldies.” Authentic Casting™️ should not mean Only Work for Attractive People™️.
