When I see a company remake animated films into live action, I cringe. Most fail miserably. (cough DISNEY cough). But this was actually amazing. The whole look of it. The characters, cinematography, writing, acting. They pulled it off. I guess they were paying attention to what fails. Great movie.

Well, Bob Marley is a bust. Noisy as fuck. RTI seems to favor some series over others when it comes to quality. This is the 2nd VinylPhyle album that has been defective. The Gestupido strikes again...

The RTI curse has happened to my new VinylPhyle copy of VU & Nico. A near, 1" scratch at the beginning of side 2, that is audible all the way into Lou's first verse. Side 1 played flawlessly, and was super quiet, as was the rest of the album. The cut is the best I ever heard it. Had to send it back.

My VinylPhyle copy of "Exodus" arrived. Let's see if this one fairs better than the VU album...

I learned two things just now... The band, Hot Chocolate, is British, AND, they wrote, and recorded the song "Brother Louie", that was covered, and made a huge hit for the band, Stories.

After the odd occurrence, where several of my drum keys would not fit a pair of lug screws on my Tama Star Drums tom-tom stand, including two of my Tama keys, I decided to get this Tama multi-tool. It's quite possible my old keys are worn, hence the loose play between them and the lugs. We'll see.

My band just landed our second gig in Granby, MA, at the Granby Legion 266 Lounge. We were expecting to concentrate on writing, and rehearsing through December, but you know, I'll take another gig. Keeps the momentum going.

I broke down, and bought this. The 2nd of four, UN Vinylphyle reissues. The few reviews that have come in on this, VU & Nico, and The Band "Northern Nights - Southern Cross", have been stellar. European, and UK pressings tend to be better than the U.S. Now I'm excited to get this copy.
