You know sometimes between jobs I think to myself "what am I even doing? Am I even a worthwhile creator?" Then I end up having to grab some old reel or artwork I did and go down the 15 year rabbit hole of my own work and, have to admit "goddamn I am actually pretty damn skilled."

When you use AI, it uses you. You’re the currency. It might seem free for now, but the costs to the future of human thinking/feeling by way of no longer writing/reading are going to be immense.

to me, “you should create for yourself” and “you deserve to be acknowledged for what you make” are two statements that should coexist. chasing engagement will rot your soul, while being neglected will see your passion wither. loving what you make is a failsafe for when the engagement never comes.

What people don't understand about learning art is that, while it is hard, that marriage of frustration and pride never goes away. Learning to draw a human hand? You'll feel frustration that it's not as good as it could be, and pride and what you managed. Sistine Chapel? Same thing.

Sometimes I abhor famous literary works like 1984 and The Handmaid's Tale, as some governments seem to classify them as handy "how to" guides.
