On a holiday road trip we entertained ourselves by selecting the ābestā song for every state. I didnāt want to be too tiresome, so I only suggested Springsteen on those states we were having trouble with - Utah, Nebraska, South Dakota, etc. I did not even nominate him for the bigger ⦠1/3

I have always loved public libraries, but having young children has exponentially increased my gratitude and sense of indebtedness to them. Our local library is such a huge part of our lives. The books, the programming, the very intentionally curated kidsā section. Itās all such a gift.

My younger kid is on the other side of the world & texted this week to tell me theyād heard the Springsteen version of āSanta Claus is Coming to Townā in a cafe. They said āI seemed to be the only one who knew even the spoken intro.ā It felt good that they had that touch of home while far away.
