For day 30 (WATERS), did you know that the phrase "blowing smoke up your ass" comes from a resuscitation technique utilized in the 1700s, often for drowning. Tobacco smoke was blown up into rectums to stimulate and "revive" the person. This pre-dated CPR.

Balls of light have been reported hovering over various stretches of water on the Scottish lochs, sometimes stationary, then moving fast and dropping down into the water. In local lore such lights were thought to foretell death, and upon seeing them, fisherman would stay on dry land... #MorbidMarch

#MorbidMarch I explore isolation, regret, yearning, missing a state of being that you can no longer return to, and the sensation of being an "other". All of my stories have a supernatural element; mostly following vampires. There's something about the gothic vibes that I really enjoy.

It's always dark this far north. Sometimes they don't see whatever deadly things are out there til it's too late.

#MorbidMarch most of my characters are outlaws or immortals, so it probably wouldn't happen. Rebecca from Such Sweet Sorrow would probably have a very short one, focused on her being the last of her family line.

Would you like to read your own obituary? PT Barnum did. On his death bed and in a final act of showmanship, he persuaded The Evening Sun in New York to publish his obituary whilst he was still alive. The paper did acknowledge this fact though! #MorbidMarch
