starscream v1.2 is functional! im importing magnitude data of variable stars and parsing it as audio I wanted a handy tool that automates it for any similar datasets, and it's slowing clicking together includes WAV export

I stitched together a bunch of archival data of 61 Cygni A+B, a binary star system with enough proper motion that you can actually see it dragging itself across the background stars The frames cover roughly a century: old plates, DSS/POSS material, infrared survey data, and newer optical surveys

been digging through some old century plates this evening, and im kind of in love with how beautiful they are

trying to put together a 100 year Timelapse of apparent stellar motion. firstly I’m astounded that this much consistent data exists for singular astronomical objects secondly, there are entire archives of digitised 100 year old glass plates WITH baked in WCS calibration.
