I am working these nights, so I won't be there. But I cant recommend this highly enough. See The People's Joker with other trans people. It's awesome.

Treatment for trans kids cannot wait for adulthood. Adolescent changes in the body are permanent and irreversible. The pain of dysmorphia kills. No medical professional treats kids casually, no family seeks treatment casually. Treatment is safe, effective and is a conservative course of action.

(And I should say: trans adults who didn’t get blockers as kids, you are handsome and beautiful and lovely as you are and I’ve got nothing but love for you.)

Among people who understand the medicine, the real goal of keeping trans kids away from blockers is to ensure that transgender people can be more easily “clocked” and targeted for discrimination and violence. And of course simple “this will hurt them” cruelty.

If trans kids can’t get hormone blockers, their bodies change permanently in ways that are profoundly disturbing to them. It isn’t a “they can decide when they’re grownups” situation. The blockers are what ALLOW them to decide later. Keeping blockers from trans kids is a cruel torture.

I have a pilot for Stargate: Minneapolis where people get in trouble with aliens because they've been throwing trash through a basement Stargate for a decade. Kind of a proto LD I guess. I really like Atlantis, but I fear a rewatch.
