As a queer author, thank you for buying our gay books in response to the challenges and bans and court decisions, but I implore you to go stand up for your public libraries and schools—they’re our greatest advocates, and they’re kind of the main target of this whole effort.

Query tip: when agents ask for a synopsis we expect spoilers and to know the ending— if you don’t give us an ending you’re doing yourself a disservice because we don’t know if that’s how the book actually ends or if you are just trying to keep it a secret. Bottom line—give us the ending ❤️

If this all feels too much to fight, start small. Take "aspiring writer" out of your bio and replace it with "writer." Stop saying things like "I don't have a proper job." Support creators; translators; illustrators. Boycott AI generated junk. We are many. They are few. And we have the words.
