Over the past year have been thinking about all the Brazilian jazz musicians who relocated to LA & NYC, esp. in the 60s & 70s. After a show last night i happened to meet a woman who just wrote her dissertation about it. She said that Sergio Mendes was key to several musicians relocating to LA.
