Democrats are focused on winning elections by solving people’s problems while Republicans are focused on winning elections by amplifying people’s fears & bigotries and rigging the system. It’s an asymmetry we need to address.

The courts are essentially just making Democratic voters furious in an environment where they are still likely to win the elections. Not the smartest moves but they are nothing if not myopic and full of themselves. It will backfire.

This ruling is really a serious blow. Republican states can impose new maps against the will of their voters, and Democratic states' hands are tied. This is simply not a functional democracy.

The funniest timeline would be Dems losing the house, winning the senate, Trump being a lame duck anyway, Dems continuing to win Presidency & Senate and restacking the courts for us.

Dems literally won a statewide election to pass new maps and those maps got invalidated, but Republicans in Louisiana are literally cancelling an election where people had already voted in order to pass their gerrymanders. We live in a rigged system.

If courts continue to view their job as empowering fascists, then the only solution will be to strip power from the courts, and the demand from Democratic voters to Democratic politicians will be to figure out ways to do that.

Louisiana can cancel an election already going on but voters in Virginia can’t advance a redistricting effort with a majority. The power holders in America are so brain dead and asleep at the wheel. Every comfortable moderate or norms upholding Dem needs to be catapulted into a volcano.
