Things I learned from the ads this year: -celebrities still love randomly showing up together in strange places -AI is taking over the world but it also kind of sucks -there’s no escaping tom brady or snoop dogg, who happen to hate each other

This industry has changed so much in the 15+ years I’ve been in it I don’t know how anyone can be certain about anything. For all we know love linear appointment viewing might become a fad with the youth like disposable cameras are and then we’re right back where we started.

Less future tense. More present tense.

The most interesting areas of content discovery in the context of AI is search; now driven by way more inputs. We’ve had ML content feeds for a while, pushing content we’d otherwise not have discovered. Intent-driven content fuelled by kw’s, voice, & vision context is taking it to new levels.

One thing that really gets on my nerves is self proclaimed experts. Honestly, I can only think of maybe a dozen people who truly understand the whole industry and how it works. Most of us are great at certain parts, and that’s totally fine.

AI will revolutionize how we discover content and it will trigger the most significant change the advertising industry has ever seen.
