Context: bsky devs have started labeling entire accounts as NSFW instead of just individual posts, meaning that anything those accounts post, no matter how innocuous or ordinary or unrelated to nsfw, gets tagged. It's effectively a shadow ban due to all of their posts now becoming hidden by default.

nuance exists & again, the core motivation behind the change is GOOD (clients seeing what they want when they want it with as little hassle as possible/artists being able to find their target demographic) i'm just repelled and bewildered by the extremely subjective execution

...*that's* what concerns me. i agree that a better tagging system would be beneficial to both artists and clients, but i don't think that this was a good way to go about it & i think the language/visuals are very easy to take in bad faith ESPECIALLY during the rise of puritanism and censorship

while i get the motive behind the new system, i do, categorizing bathing suits as revealing (or sexual depending on how the artist renders skin) or changing the amount of clothing a character must wear to qualify as non-revealing depending on *their body type* just reinforces a dangerous precedent
