Took an unscheduled depression nap, but I got the main website uploaded. No big fanfare or anything, the old one's gone, the new one's there. There's bits and pieces that will need to be adjusted or fixed or improved over time, but it's a hell of a leap forward and something I'm proud of making.

One last hurrah for my current website. Decided to open the current site (which is cached) and in the time it took to load the first gallery and display the body of the page, I was able to open a new tab, manually type in the URL of the test site (which was not cached), and have it load completely.

Gotta get back to the Godot mines and figure out what I'm missing to get Twitcher working. I have so many things I want to make and that I can make for it once that integration is working. Like if it's possible to run gamba-- I mean predictions from Godot, I've got some IDEAS.

It's entirely a self-made barrier but man rebuilding my main website is where so much of my energy is going. Having that central showcase for my art in a way I'm happy with is important.

Building up some knowledge of webdev has been helpful in removing some other mental blocks. Like learning how to make a page the way I want it > making pages for characters > making art for those character pages is how my brain operates instead of just making the art on its own. Brains are weird.

I might be able to get my blog rebuild online before the end of the year after all. Local testing is one thing, actually having it live is another though. I do have a secret* live site that I've been testing things on, though. (* It's publicly visible but only old-school nerds would guess it)

Maybe laying on the couch under a weighted blanket unable to fall asleep WILL fix me actually Or at least my headache Or maybe the store brand migraine meds will do that last part

It's freeing to learn basics that a lot of website builders presented as problems they were the solution to. I stopped making banners for art posts because I needed an old priest and a young priest to get the banner to show up in the preview but not the post. I can just assign a CSS class to it.

links.retroheart.net is fully set up. After wrestling with WordPress multiple years ago to wrestling with Grav for the past 2 years or so, it's so satisfying to build a little page with my own hands and understand how and why it works. No compromises, no "close enough", it looks how I want it to.

Getting a better grasp on using HTML and CSS to add responsive formating pages

Told myself I'd do some cleanup of tech that didn't work on-stream and my kitchen from DOGS-Cast. But I'm a dog with a bone who can't let go, so instead I spent the last couple hours making responsive design on my blog rework functional. Perfect is the enemy of good, though it could use some polish.

Not gonna have a big art recap this year, especially with depression plus crashing out hitting hard a few months back. Still, I got to know more of my peers, participated in a zine, started learning Godot, am rebuilding my website in Jekyll, and am finding my way back to art. That's gotta be enough.
