Sad news about Jane Goodall. She was an inspiration to me growing up and I feel so fortunate that I was able to meet her when she received an honorary degree from SFU in 2018. She was truly a legend.

This is really helpful. Often authors feel they have to do everything that is asked to have a chance at acceptance, and that often takes many months. In the timeframe of trainees in the lab, this is often prohibitive.

What do folks think of the new CIHR ranking bins (versus actual rank out of total submitted)? Doesn't seem very helpful to me, easpecially considering that fundable range is 100%-roughly 85% score. Thoughts?

CIHR NoR day is always rough. Nice to get discussed and some positive feedback. We put so much time and effort into grant applications, and reviewers work so hard to give them a chance. Too bad there is so little money in the pot - I remember the days when a 4.0 score was funded!
