For the past two years, British Columbians have been able to screen for cervical cancer at home. BC is the first province in Canada to offer cervix self-screening using HPV testing—more accurate, earlier detection that helps prevent cancer. Together, we can eliminate cervical cancer.

Dependable health care and access to primary care is a priority for everyone in B.C. In the South Island region, we’ve increased surgical capacity, expanded access to UPCCs and are building out mental health and substance use supports to help people get the help they need.

Today is the start of the #16DaysofActivism Against #GenderBasedViolence. I’ve proposed more reforms to the fed govt, such as creating a presumption of first-degree murder in certain intimate partner violence cases. This is a key ask from advocates ensuring survivors receive the justice they deserve
