Can't lie, 2025 wasn't great. I left the games industry (hopefully temporarily), emerged frm burnout and landed work in hospitality in summer, then rounded off the autumn with an unexpected death in my family. After burnout, grief and a lot of bad luck, I'm so ready to start fresh next year.

The confusion and conflation of ‘generative ai that is built on stolen artwork’ and ‘machine learning, character behaviour modelling and proc gen’ is intentional on the part of the grifters peddling the former. They benefit from murkiness of classification, because the latter predates their bollocks

SOTC, one of my all time fav games ever!!! A number of responses to this wishing they would make a sequel?? I dunno how to tell you this lads but they did. They made it ten years ago. It's called The Last Guardian. Also a technical and artistic marvel. Also one of the best games ever made. Anyway Sony killed the studio that made it.

If I'd only known that the six-month paid Upwork gig I got within a few months of graduating uni would be the best I'd ever have it for the next 8 YEARS... Well, there's a mountain-sized pile of things I'd have done differently. Starting with not bothering to get a degree in the first place. Sigh.

Tactical Breach Wizards mention! Played it earlier this year, had a blast. 10/10 story, characters, gameplay, none of the classic XCOM frustration. If you love tactics games, it's a must buy. And 20/10 writing! Traffic Warlock Steve might be the hardest I've laughed at a game in years, iykyk.
