Tonight's #lapidary adventures -- cut this really interesting banded ironstone(?) that came off looking like overcooked bacon, but polished up gorgeously under the lapidary wheels. The burnt red-oranges pop out so dramatically.

Oops I missed last week's #lapidary post welp This fun aggregate stone last week came out and polished up like a Toblerone. Very milk chocolate brown and white nougat colors. It took a really high gloss shine from the cerium. Very happy.

Second cabochon done (the round one)! This time I was trying to preserve more of the stone from grinding, but I think I honestly should have been more aggressive with it -- the flat top of it needed a more aggressive touch on the grinder. Still, I enjoyed making it. #lapidary #agate

I joined a lapidary club! So I can take my rocks and make them pretty! This is the first cabochon I've ever made -- a simple oval cabochon. It took about 3 hours or work to go from a slice of brazilian agate to this cabochon. I really enjoyed making the banding a centerpiece feature to it. :)
