When writing fiction, it’s important to use words most readers know, so as to not alienate them. Except solivagant. Use that one all the time, because it’s awesome. Solivagant: rambling alone, marked by solitary wandering.

Every book launch, I drop the ball on one thing or another. This time, it was that I didn’t pre-pester enough people for early reviews. Next time I’ll do better. I hope. Gotta learn these lessons.

It’s been suggested that some of the characters in my books are caricatures. That is largely true but I prefer to think of them as archetypes. It just sounds fancier.

Our German Shepherd would have been a great police dog. Except when it’s raining. She’s not a big fan of that. Or windy, I guess. Or snowing. And also she doesn’t like it to be too hot. Or too cold. Other than that, she would’ve been a star.

The Entangled Dragon sequel is coming in the next week or two. I’m writing the back cover blurb right now, which is something I’d put off, for I hate doing it.

When writing fiction, use words people probably know. Cachinnate, for instance, is a swell word. But most people don’t know what it means, so probably don’t use it. P.S. Cachinnate means to laugh loudly.
