An island has been 'scrubbed' on maps. Scientists who previously went to Jan Mayen Island - located roughly 600km northeast of Iceland - to research migratory birds have sounded the alarm over clearances being pulled.

17 years after Sandra Barton disappeared near Golden, BC, her husband's plane crashed in the same area, prompting her son, Tyler, to hike into the area in search of him. The June 17th, 2007 Golden Star reported that the search was called off with no leads. The area remains off-limits to locals.
