I decided to take a break from my novella-in-progress (currently at ~13k) and picked up a piece I thought was a novelette awaiting redrafting. It's 28k! The last time I looked at it was just before my dad passed (about 1 1/2 years ago), likely why the length didn't stick.

The simple fact is, AI is the future, that's why companies keep forcing it on people who are begging them to stop. It's like how when the Walkman was invented, Sony had to glue them to people's hands, because no one wanted to listen to music on the go. But now we all want that, because of the glue.

I realize broad science-literacy problems cannot generally be solved just by shoving more facts at people but I really wish more people understood that the entire purpose and mechanism of a vaccine is to educate your OWN immune system, making it about the most "natural" medical intervention possible

While traveling I came across an amazing used bookstore in Cardiff, Wales and picked up a couple of novels I last ready in my early teens. Anne McCaffrey's Crystal Singer and Harry Harrison's The Stainless Steel Rat (both were originally purchased at used bookstores by baby me, so full circle).

Color me tickled fuchsia. I'm keeping an eye on references to Storyteller. Today Google revealed it is included on the list of books purchased by the Cheney, Kansas public library. The library serves a town of ~2000 people. Small town in the heartland and Tanith Lee?! Yes, please.

My ex has lived in the UK and paid tax for 37 years. She has been a nurse and is now a teaching assistant. She has not become a UK citizen because Malaysia does not allow dual nationality. The Tories would exclude her completely from the benefit system (and me too were we still together).
