i'm at "the nerves are serious about coming back alive" stage of surgery recovery for a few spots on my body and i have never wanted to claw my own skin off as must as i do now. there should be "tell us about your major medical event" panels at writing cons.

Hopefully Americans aren't too dense to realize this is just a full page testimonial ad for GLP1s masquerading as news. This is like the "Marty uses AI" story. We used to do this all the time at the ad firm. Pitch a fully 'reported' story to lazy writers who ran it as their own.

Anthropic claims its engineers are shipping 8x as much code per quarter now as they did in 2022. Unless you have 8x as many reviewers, that's bad. Like not just a little bad, but really bad. This is such a house of cards built on debt and cheap power.

the most unrealistic thing about widow's bay is the lack of decades' long feuds, fueled by living in close proximity to someone you've hated since grade school but could never escape. you had them in every class you ever took and now you're in your 70s and see them every time you leave the house.

i might be revising my take on for all mankind in that it's looking more like it's neoliberal pretending to be conservative. i worked in tech too long to be optimistic about helios's ideals.

i'm thinking through another widow's bay blog post, and this won't make it in, but i can't even comprehend how talented the cast is at physically pulling off playing a big bunch of weirdos. their physical presences are carrying an awful lot of weight in relatively short episodes.

when i lived in wi i kept busy but a lot of the things i went to were about community or writing and were not quite my thing. now i keep busy and go to a lot of events where my different identities and interests intersect. mission accomplished. also there are a lot of cuties here.
