Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.

tonight i walked to the library and explored my neighborhood a bit then submitted a very personal poem to a magazine and did a little work towards getting my novel in order. with the thought that with everything falling apart in the world, maybe these writings will help someone someday.
