I don't know if calling videogames GAMES is the best thing anymore. I know it's a socio-historical, cultural issue, that whole thing, but the more I understand game design as EXPERIENCE design before being game design, the more I feel uncomfortable with that name to describe it as a media.

AI is making it very clear that artists for the last two decades have been way too subservient to marketing/exec decisions, focus group testing and trend-chasing when we should have been pushing way more for creative-driven projects and giving more pushback in general

It's impossible for me that this kind of IP resurgence isn't a direct consequence of the romhack/translation/"piracy" scene.
