Had some Jehovahs Witnesses come to the door today. Only just realised that I could maybe have scared them off by saying we were gay, furry, and just nice because it's right. Instead our visiting friend scared them off by angrily asking if their god can cure them from being a "cripple".

New Year’s Vibe

GOOD NEWS! A group of patients with an otherwise incurable form of T‑cell leukemia have seen their cancer driven into REMISSION by an innovative immune therapy known as BE-CAR7. 82% of patients reached deep remission and 64% of patients have now been disease-free and OFF therapy for THREE years.

Wrote a whole chapter over Christmas eve and Christmas day, over 6000 words. Only got one page done today (roughly 1000 words). Travel interrupts the schedule tomorrow, but hopefully back at it on Sunday.

Finished the editing pass. 23 Chapters so far. Now to get on and write up the remainder of the story. Really want to push myself until it is finished.

Awake again. No capacity for editing this morning as having to do the dreaded task of visiting parents.

Reached chapter 20 in editing my book. I am liking how easy it has been to edit the last few chapters. Far fewer spelling mistakes than those written aeons ago. I also found a pair of chapters that need to be swapped around in order when I get back access to my computer.

Using read aloud function for editing writing is a godsend. It really helps to pick up incorrect punctuation, spelling, and words. The method was suggested in a writing panel at Confuzzled by @amethystmare.bsky.social. I have gone through 14 chapters in 2 days.

Over 65,000 words written in one story since 2009 (mostly written before 2012 then a 10 year hiatus). Now I am going over the story and updating it to sound better. The read aloud function really helps to identify where I put wrong words. This is the second edit pass, and still I need to finish it.

After over a year of being half painted and taking up space on my desk, I finally finished up my 3rd squad of Jump Intercessors.

The final 5 Death Company finished. And the whole Death Company collection so far. (I know a Storm Raven can't technically be Death Company, but it only ever transports them, so it is painted appropriately.)

Reverse railroading in D&D: The DM gave us a quest in the very first session. 5 months and multiple forced side quests later, we finally manage to make it to the first quest point.

Painted up 5 of my Angels Encarmine Death Company. Still 5 of this squad to go, but doing them in manageable chunks.

Finally finished my Angels Encarmine Sanguinary Guard, enhanced with 3D printed backpacks and variant weapons. Two models have magnetised arms so I can field them as 2 squads of 3 or one squad of 6.

Completed a tail as for @messigryphon.bsky.social. The first part of his partial Griphon to be completed.

Painted up some Votann Ironkin. Even the new Kapricus are piloted by Ironkin (because you can give them the heads)

At the Eurofurence auction, there are like 20 people in the room. How can we have an auction with so few people?

Finished up my unit of Cthonian Earthshaker "artillery" yesterday. Really like how they came out.

I hate late shift work days. 4 hours before work starts but action paralisis exists stopping me from doing things in the interim.

Got my Arkanyst Evaluator painted up during spare timenin work today. I think he looks far better than the white one GW painted for all their pics.

Votann Memnir painted.

I have been investing in magnetic storage. Now all my Votann collection (until the morning) lives in this one box.

Einhyr Hearthguard finished. Unit armed with Graviton hammer, concussion fists and plasma guns.

I painted a model. After a long time of not painting. Uthar the Destined joins the ranks of the Votann.
