They should probably ban every 1-3 mana creature in Legacy that draws a card when it attacks/deals damage. That design is just so inherently busted with Force of Will that is sorta devolves the entire format around that class of cards.

Duel Commander giving me some new experiences still; Recruiter pass into Snoop with Arena of Glory. I had Snoop in hand > Goblin Chirurgeon on top of the pile so I could combo with protection and ended up beating this Kinesis with exactly enough Goblins in play. Infinite mana > muxus > Kiki Crafter

Pulled out another Duel Commander trophy same night as Legacy, I'm just on a 10-0 tear tonight! Drew a lotta Goblin Recruiters in this one, essential to beat the nearly unwinnable Light Paws matchup.

2nd 🏆in 3 leagues!! Beat Jeskai Blade, UB tempo (or reanimator tbh, but probably tempo), Oops, Maverick, Wakame Doomsday. Insanely stoked about this list after having quite a dry spell of results.

Got my first 5-0 in Duel Commander, it's my 6th league of the format and I've been 3-2x3 4-1x2 before this. Leagues heavily over-rep mono red, which I've beaten maybe 8-9 times, lost once. Muxus genuinely feels like such a beast in this format!!

Honestly warms my heart to see Stryfo come out of retirement and top 8 the Showcase with a deck no one else is playing, with cards no one else has registered. There's hope for Legacy maybe.

gonna post a bunch of thoughts on the legacy B&R. I think the most important note to keep in mind is legacy in 2025 is inherently a casual format. There are competitive events, but it is a format defined by casual interest. Without weeklies and paper play, legacy dies. This B&R ignores this fact.

What stings the most about today’s B&R is the dissonance between March’s “legacy looks balanced but we know people aren’t happy so we’re changing things” to today’s “legacy looks balanced so no changes.” I had hopes we would continue to improve the format, now we’re stuck with this until 2026.

I think the big gap with Oops is how surface level it is similar to Belcher, so it gets a surface level pass, but in practice its not remotely the same experience. It's much closer to asking "What if every Epic Storm combo line was a 4 mana instant kill"

Wotc is treating Oops as a museum curiosity (look at how wacky our game engine can be, isn’t that neat??) rather than a wart on the face of Legacy

What really gets me about this announcement is it feels like such a 180 from the last one. Data tells you nothing about how a format feels to play and the last format fucking sucked, just like this one did. And yet this one feels like a tried-and-true "data looks fine, no changes"

Comically bad rules change for Legacy, Moon + Saga on 2 just means you have an infinite construct maker that can't be wastelanded. Huge power level shift for absolutely no reason.

Good banning on Mycospawn, genuinely improves the play experience of Legacy a lot. Troll ban seems a little weak to me, but still will have impact. Wanted a few cards more gone (TOR go away PLEASE), but this was still good. I was afraid of “no changes”.
