Current events has me thinking about how some bees use their numbers to engulf giant wasps. They then vibrate, using their body heat to cook the wasps alive. A 2 degree difference in heat tolerance allows the bees the ability to survive as long as they are precise enough. It’s pretty rad.

In this species, males can sometimes have asymmetrical arm like this, with one much larger than the other. This is actually the first time I have ever seen it! None of the guidebooks I own show a photo of this condition, so if my ID is correct, I think this might be a pretty rare shot 🦐✨
