Yes we have heard the argument that these private companies using illegal 53’ trailers making deliveries to USPS are exempt from state law, but they are not.

How does tractor trailer parking become such a systemic issue? Lack of enforcement and lack of accountability. Overnight Commercial Parking, Detached Trailer, 53’ Trailer. All easy violations to spot, 10:1 these reports are ignored by NYPD Traffic.

Several problems at once on 44th St. illegal 53 foot trailer stuck behind double parked cars off of the truck route. So many things NYPD could enforce but it chooses not to enforce any of them.
